    The Position

    Accountants are responsible for preparing financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the standards of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

    The Department of Business & Industry is recruiting to fill a vacant Accountant 2 position within the Housing Division in Carson City. Under the direction of an Accountant 3, the incumbent will prepare financial information and notices related to bonds and mortgages as assigned, create cash receipts, review travel requests and reimbursements, make bank deposits and grant draws, and process accounts payables. The incumbent will also assist the Accountant III with input of journal entries into the accounting system.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting and one year of experience performing professional accounting work; OR Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or closely related field and two years of experience performing professional accounting work; OR one year of experience as an Accountant I in Nevada State service. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
