The
Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a dedicated
Veterinarian who, with their medical expertise, will join a veterinary team in providing care for animals of San Bernardino County’s Animal Shelters and community members. San Bernardino County Department of Public Health has recently procured its first ever mobile veterinary clinic and is in the process of building a new state-of-the-art County Animal Care Center that will include a veterinary hospital. Job duties include shelter medicine, high volume spay neuter, and community education. The State licensed veterinarian selected for this dynamic opportunity will join the veterinary team in assisting the lead Public Health Veterinarian in providing guidance for the establishment of the County’s new veterinary facilities.
Outstanding Compensation and Benefits: San Bernardino County offers a generous compensation package that includes a competitive salary within the designated 87C salary range and our excellent Exempt C Benefits package. The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefit Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential of 4% above the base salary rate with a complementing modified leaves package and benefits. Annual base salary up to $220,500.

Minimum RequirementsLicenses: Possession of a license issued by the State of California to practice as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
-AND-Experience: One (1) year of experience providing veterinary services.
Must obtain a valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license within ninety (90) days of hire and maintain valid license throughout employment.
Desired QualificationsSan Bernardino County seeks dedicated and passionate veterinarians to apply and join the DPH Veterinarian team. The ideal candidate will be someone who welcomes the opportunity to follow animal care policies and initiatives while assisting the County during its transition to a cutting-edge and innovative animal care center.
The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, have attention to detail and enjoy engaging with the community in special programs, educational courses and partnerships. This person will be comfortable collaborating with other public health team members as well as be able to prioritize the health of the overall animal facilities.
