    • Oversee zoning, subdivision, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement
    • Modernize development processes with a focus on customer service and innovation

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, Architecture, or a related field
    • 5+ years of progressively responsible planning/development experience, including supervisory work
    • AICP Certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
    • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential
    • Experience with grants management, historic preservation, building codes, and GIS technology

    Why You’ll Love It Here:

    • Excellent health insurance and on-site wellness clinic
    • Retirement through the Retirement Systems of Alabama (12.34% employer match)
    • City-provided vehicle and phone
    • Relocation reimbursement considered
    • Supportive leadership and long-term career growth potential
