This is an entry level, non-partisan, staff position in the House Administration Division. All work for this position will be completed on-site at the State Capitol Building. This position will assist with expense accounts, vendor payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires accountability and accuracy in the verification, scanning, filing, and processing financial information related to all House accounts, including staff, and member expenses and vendor payments. Additionally, this position will assist with maintaining records of expenditures and account balance, fulfilling Sunshine requests, and generating various reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants should have a basic knowledge and understanding of the Missouri State Government accounting processes, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organization, and strong customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access is required; SAM II Financial experience is preferred.
• Applicants must have the ability to remain objective, non-partisan, and professional regarding all legislative matters and work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

EMPLOYMENT RESTRICTIONS: The House prohibits the hiring of any person who at the time of initial hiring is related to any House member within the fourth degree by blood or marriage.
