Junior Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer (CSSO)
Location: Warminster, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Travel: Less than 10% (approximately 4-5 weeks annually)
Compensation: Based on experience
Work Arrangement: On-site
Position Overview: We are seeking a Junior Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer (CSSO) to support a growing engineering services team developing multi-security-level systems that incorporate virtual environments and VPN technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, technically challenging environment where innovative solutions are encouraged and emerging technologies are applied to real-world defense and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Junior Contractor Special Access Program Security Officer (CSSO) supporting multiple classified programs and personnel across various locations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security requirements, including: DoD Manual 5205.07, DoD Manual 5105.21, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), program-specific government regulations and facility procedures.
- Identify security issues and implement corrective actions as directed.
- Conduct security briefings and maintain security education and awareness programs.
- Review security processes and procedures to improve efficiency and standardization.
- Support the preparation of security-related proposals and documentation.
- Communicate security findings and program status through verbal and written reports.
- Coordinate planning and implementation of new security programs.
- Investigate security incidents and classified program violations and recommend corrective actions.
- Interpret and apply security requirements across various program environments.
- Serve as a liaison between program teams, government customers, and sponsors.
- Administer contractual security requirements for classified programs.
- Maintain accurate security databases and records.
- Support employee training, development, and resource management initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
- 3-5 years of security experience within the Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- Strong knowledge of government security regulations and compliance requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of: National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), National Security Agency (NSA) Communications Security (COMSEC) Program Security Directives (PSD).
- Experience working directly with government customers and program stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
- Proven track record of successful security compliance audits.
Education & Certifications:
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant security experience.
