Security Officer
The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all patients, visitors, staff and guests, as well as all areas of the hospital facility and grounds. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area.
Employment Type: Full Time (76 hours every two weeks)
Shift: 3p-11p or 3p-3a
Week 1: Sun/Wed/Thrs (3p-3am)
Week 2: Mon/Fri-Thurs (3p-3a), Tues/Sat (3pm-11pm)
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 38
Weekends Required: Every other weekend
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or higher education
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- State of Michigan Driver's License
Documentation
- Employee completes all departmental and organizational documentation (including, but not limited to occurrence reports, close observation summaries and education logs) in a timely, objective and accurate manner, including all pertinent information.
Productivity
- Employee maintains a consistent level of activity, focusing efforts on initiatives which benefit the organization, in line with departmental expectations.
Personnel Security
- Employee consistently and reliably acts to mitigate the threat of physical, psychological or monetary harm or distress to patients, visitors, guests and staff in all manner of situations.
Physical Security
- Employee is vigilant in maintaining control of the facility and the security-sensitive areas within, employing physical countermeasures such as card access control and keys as well as procedural countermeasures such as facility patrols, observation and reporting of suspicious activity.
Emergency Response
- Employee acts reliably and confidently in both a proactive and reactive manner to mitigate the physical, psychological and monetary impact of all manner of emergency events.
