This unclassified, at‑will position is designated “confidential” and is not union‑represented.BenefitsComprehensive benefit package includes:Vacation, personal and sick leave13 annual paid holidaysMedical, dental and prescription plansRetirement plansLife insuranceFlexible spending account plansCommuter Tax$ave programProfessional development coursesLocationHamilton, New JerseyResponsibilitiesUnder close supervision of an Intelligence Analyst 2, receive on‑the‑job training to conduct analytical research on highly sensitive and classified information.Learn to conduct intelligence analysis using reporting, investigative case information, law enforcement databases, OSINT, and academic research.Assist in analyzing counterintelligence threats such as foreign influence activities, economic interference, disinformation campaigns, insider threats, and domestic and non‑state actor threats.Write intelligence products—strategic assessments, intelligence summaries, threat bulletins, and executive‑level briefings.Provide timely analytic support to investigations, operational planning, and counterintelligence initiatives.Attend supervisor‑recommended training in counterintelligence gathering, homeland security, counterintelligence, terrorism, or other specialized areas.Monitor, assess, and report on emerging intelligence and insider threat indicators.Apply structured analytic techniques to ensure objectivity, analytic rigor, and defensibility of assessments.Brief senior leadership and external partners on threat trends, analytic findings, and risk mitigation recommendations.Represent NJOHSP at interagency meetings, working groups, fusion center engagements, and partner conferences.Support information sharing across federal, state, local, and private sector stakeholders.Perform additional administrative and operational responsibilities as assigned.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice, International Relations, Economics, Homeland Security, or related fields. A Juris Doctorate with international law coursework may substitute.Internship: One (1) year internship with a Homeland Security Agency, federally subsidized research organization, federal agency with an intelligence mission, state police, or intelligence fusion center is acceptable toward the Apprentice Program.Additional RequirementsLaw enforcement background investigation and record review; top‑secret federal clearance required.Valid New Jersey driver's license only if vehicle operation is necessary; otherwise not required.U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.Program includes a 3‑year apprenticeship with performance reviews every 12 months; completion leads to promotion to Intelligence Analyst 1.Work ArrangementHybrid schedule: up to two days remote work under the Telework Program; flexible work week with one day off per week or pay period (approval based on operational needs).New Jersey Residency and EthicsNew employees must establish New Jersey residency within one year.
