The Analyst, Competitive Intelligence supports Paul Hastings' global business development and strategic growth initiatives by delivering actionable research and competitive intelligence. The role identifies new business opportunities, supports client pitches, and monitors market, target, and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making. Successful candidates demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and creativity, while taking ownership of their work, proactively identifying opportunities to add value, and working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, results‑driven team.Job DescriptionPerform in-depth market and competitive research on key companies, individuals, and industry sectors to support strategic growth initiatives.Deliver insightful, actionable analysis by distilling complex research into clear, actionable intelligence reports and summaries.Actively track industry movements and emerging trends across multiple sectors to surface new business opportunities and strategic leads.Research and prepare biographical information on potential clients.Leverage advanced research platforms—such as Lexis, Capital IQ, Lex Machina, PitchBook, and Bloomberg Law—to deliver accurate, data‑driven insights.Collaborate cross‑functionally with business development and marketing, attorneys, research services and other key stakeholders to support practice initiatives and strategic projects.ProficienciesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel capabilities including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization tools.Highly analytical with strong critical‑thinking skills; adept at transforming complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, enabling effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.Team‑oriented professional with a client‑focused mindset, consistently demonstrating professionalism and a collaborative spirit.Inquisitive, with a talent for connecting dots and synthesizing diverse information into cohesive narratives.Organized, with a proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in fast‑paced environments.QualificationsBachelor's degree required (emphasis in research, law or business preferred).At least 3 years of research or business development experience (professional services industry experience preferred).SalarySalary wage range for New York: minimum $70,000, maximum $88,000 annually.
