Weekend Day Shift: Rotating Days (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. Logistics at full potential. As the Dispatch Specialist, you will be responsible for direct, effective and friendly communication with our drivers, and communicating issues both internally and externally. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Facilitate professional communication with our drivers over the phone and On-Board Computer System (OBCS)
- Perform essential AS-400 functions to maintain our computer systems
- Communicate issues with our internal and external customers
- Complete thorough documentation of all issues involving drivers and loads
- Perform regular, thorough fleet scans to proactively catch and correct issues
- Ensure a high level of on-time service is maintained
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- At a minimum, you'll need: Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and U.S. and Canadian geography Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AS-400 The ability to type 25 words per minute
- It'd be great if you also have: High school diploma or equivalent Transportation and call center/customer service experience Solid attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems The motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work collaboratively and get along with diverse personalities Solid organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
