Dispatch Coordinator

The primary role of the Dispatch Coordinator is to manage the transportation of our client's cargo according to their specifications with precision, courtesy, and outstanding service. This ensures top-notch customer service and supports ongoing growth with our clients. This position calls for a self-motivated individual who can think quickly, make independent decisions, and interact with customers and delivery professionals in a professional manner daily. A successful Coordinator will excel in engaging with our professional car haulers, balancing their needs with customer requirements, all while focusing on revenue and company profitability.

Job Responsibilities
  • Organize, arrange, and oversee loads in a cost-effective way
  • Act as the primary contact for customers and car haulers, overseeing all aspects of the dispatch process, from load assignments to addressing any issues that may arise
  • Maintain constant communication and positive relationships with internal and external clients
  • Monitor current orders to ensure accurate pick-up and delivery, meeting performance standards and customer demands
  • Resolve issues efficiently and professionally, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed
  • Perform any additional tasks delegated by department or senior management
Essential Skills
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet
  • Willingness to learn company-specific software
Qualifications
  • College degree or one year of logistics experience, preferably in trucking
  • Excellent oral, electronic, and verbal communication skills
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT regulations
  • Experience with Elogs is a bonus
