Job Summary
Performs management and administrative work, providing leadership to the Venues Security programs and initiatives across Kia Center and Camping World Stadium. Serves as an assistant to the Venues Security Manager and works closely with public safety, traffic, and transportation agencies, staff, and contractors to plan and implement effective, efficient strategies in support of each event. Core responsibilities center on people and operations management including hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising assigned personnel; developing the program budget and authorizing expenditures and payroll; and administering the policies, procedures, and plans that maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests, clients, and employees. While this position carries the Assistant Manager classification under the City's job-classification system, it is a management-level role with corresponding scope, authority, and responsibility equivalent to similar management positions within the event industry.
This role is well suited to candidates with strong administrative, operational, or event-services backgrounds who excel at organizing people, processes, and logistics in a fast-paced environment. Prior law enforcement experience is valuable but not required; the position emphasizes management capability, coordination, and sound judgment over any single professional background. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Venues Security Manager, with performance reviewed through discussions, reports submitted, and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of responsible experience in management, administration or operations, to include one (1) year of which must have been in a hospitality, event services, public assembly or similar fast-paced service environment and six (6) months of experience in security or law enforcement ; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Important: To be eligible to proceed forward in the application process, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the position description. Please ensure your application provides details of all relevant experience related to the position. If you have questions or need clarification concerning the position or application process, please contact Human Resources at jobs@orlando.gov or 407.246.2062.
If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
