Position OverviewClassification & Parole Representative (C&PR) – JC-524022Salary: $10,482.00 - $13,207.00 per month. Minimum salary for new to state applicants.LocationCalifornia State Prison – Los Angeles County, 44750 60th Street West, Lancaster, CA 93536.Working ConditionsLocated in Lancaster, CA. The facility is approximately 45 minutes north of Valencia and 75 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and direct the total institutional classification process.Coordinate and manage the Records Office operation.Coordinate and review the work of the counseling staff; instruct and assist with in‑service training programs.Evaluate staff performance and recommend appropriate actions.Assign and review cases and assist program staff with difficult case problems.Serve as resource consultant to custodial staff in the Administrative Segregation Unit.Monitor case record compilations to ensure policy and procedure compliance.Follow up on specific classification recommendations and develop effective case‑work procedures.Coordinate work with departments, institutions, law‑enforcement agencies, and other public and private agencies.Coordinate hearings for the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH); coordinate releases with the Parole and Community Services Divisions, including furlough placements.Minimum RequirementsCertification or equivalency for correctional counseling at the III level; see Classification Specification.Experience in inmate classification, parole, or related correctional functions.Knowledge of CDCR policies and procedures.Demonstrated ability to coordinate administrative activities and work with interagency partners.Desirable QualificationsKnowledge and experience with current CDCR HR practices.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Supervisory or leadership experience.Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.Ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining timeliness and quality.Ability to work well and stay organized in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.Positive attitude toward working with all organizational levels.Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.BenefitsAccess to California Public Employees' Retirement System benefits and California State Civil Service Employee Benefits Summary.
