What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking a Year-Round Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team! As a student intern on the Security Information Systems team, you will play an important role assisting in the software planning, configuration, and testing processes for our team.On any given day, you may be called on to:Support Safeguards & Security in their efforts to protect people, information, facilities, and materials to enable Sandia's nation security mission.Assist in the software planning, design, configuration, development, and testing processesWork on a dynamic team contributing to software development projects based on project needsSupport Sandia's mission by improving operations, offering innovative solutions, and managing risk for corporate activitiesPartner and learn from senior team members about Sandia's Enterprise System software development methodologyThe selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.Salary RangeAt Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. You can view the Intern Pay Rate chart here.Qualifications We RequireYou bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate programMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summerAbility to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenshipNote: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.Qualifications We DesirePursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or related fieldExperience developing web applications using Angular Material, HTML, and JQuery, with familiarity in managing deployments on IIS and Azure Stack infrastructure.Ability to communicate well with management, customers and IT partnersKnowledge of/experience with software development languages (e.g., SQL, .NET, Javascript frameworks)Knowledge of Agile software development processes and toolsAction oriented and produces results ability to accomplish tasks within required timeframesLeadership accepts responsibility and accountabilityPlanning and scheduling work is planned properly, scheduled effectively, and accomplished efficientlyQuality output meets/exceeds standards, is accurate and completeTeam work works collaboratively focusing on team needs, provides recognition, is open and supportiveFlexibility accepts change and is open to and supportive of innovative ideas and methodsSecurity ClearanceSandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
