Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a SME ServiceNow Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia .ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program will deliver engineering services on ServiceNow platform.The Software Engineer will support the team in the following activities (including but not limited to) in support of the customer's Enterprise ServiceNow Platform:Involved in the planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standardsMaintain and add new capabilities to the core ServiceNow platform to enhance functionality for tenantsDevelop, test and deploy updates to ServiceNow based on customer requirementsCustomize and configure ServiceNow applications and facilitate rollout of new applications and modules; configure Application User Interface and configure workflowCollaborate effectively with ServiceNow System Engineers and developers to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requestsIdentify system deficiencies and recommend solutionsMaintenance and continuous improvements of the processes, standards, policies, working methods and toolsEnsure appropriate tools and processes are in place to have a development/production environment that is reliable and reproducibleEnsure tool configuration consistency across Development, Testing, Integration, and Production environmentsParticipate in on-going production support and end user supportDocument testing and maintenance of system correctionsResearch, understand, and develop using new technologies and standards as neededResearch, design, develop and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications softwareInvolved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standardsEvaluate interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall systemQualificationsRequired QualificationsA minimum of sixteen (16) years relevant experience with Bachelor's or Master's degreesMinimum of five years, hands‑on developing ServiceNow productsStrong understanding of ServiceNow Development Platform including, but not limited to ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HR Module, Customer Service Management (CSM), Asset Management, Change Management, Customer Development, etc.Proven significant success developing ServiceNow products using JavaScript and other coding applicationsDatabase Administration (Oracle or MySQL) experienceAbility to efficiently and appropriately estimate work effort requirementsAbility to communicate effectively through written and verbal methodsAbility to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAble to adapt to a constantly changing environmentAptitude and willingness to work with variety of newer emerging technologies/tools as opportunities demandAbility to deliver enhance functionality, aid with new implementations, and provide continuous support within the scheduled time while preserving system integrity requiredHigh degree of initiative, creativity, and technical ability to function on this team requiredAbility to identify issues and implement corrective actionsShould work toward achieving ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) cert while on taskDesired QualificationsServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)The ideal candidate would also have IT project management experience, and be familiar with Scrum, Lean, Agile and DevOpsExperience with Java, Ruby, DevOps and DevSecOpsWhat you can expect from usThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $195,000 - $225,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
