DescriptionThe Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing delivery schedules. Using available resources, dispatchers evaluate the best and safest trucking routes to maximize our trucks. By maintaining a well-organized operation, dispatchers satisfy our customer's needs by maintaining prompt delivery schedules, while managing delivery costs thru efficiency.Have full knowledge of status of deliveries at all times by maintaining the GPS system in placeResponding to and deal with customer communication by email, fax and/or telephoneNo false promises of deliveriesMake sure all backorders are entered, filed and scheduled to be shippedConstant communication with the front counter, reps and customers is required of the dispatcher (i.e. letting the inside or outside reps know when items are backordered, calling before the load leaves when requested by the customer, calling with postponements due to weather etc.)Turn in complete paperwork for billing and receiving departmentsProvide information on equipment needed for jobsite deliveryEstablish effective working relationships with sales and key management to improve our overall delivery serviceMeet with the management team as needed to review opportunities for efficiency within the shipping and delivery processSchedule loads for all trucks and make sure each driver is dispatched with instructions and directionsMake sure that all material that needs to be picked up at vendors is done timelyAid the Safety Director with maintaining the D.O.T. files (minimum time allotted for this)Work with warehouse manager scheduling vacation or other absences for driversHe, in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, will work diligently to manage the regular work hours and keep the overtime hours to a minimum. This is a crucial aspect in the determination of bonusesDemonstrate a positive attitude to show customers their business is appreciatedRequirementsKnowledge of safety proceduresAbility to prepare routine administrative paperworkAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingOrganizing and coordinating skillsAbility to analyze and solve problemsGood communication skillsExcellent customer service abilityBilingual – Spanish**May be waived#J-18808-Ljbffr
