This role is focused on Marine Operations, managing the day‑to‑day operations of our fleet, ensuring safety and profitability, and supporting broader business planning across our diverse portfolio of services.Responsibilities Manage the company's safety initiative and enforce the safety program at assigned location(s).Operate the Harbor Management system to maintain an accurate picture of the fleet, including traffic entry, customer reports, and invoicing.Assist with documentation related to vessel/fleet breakaway, including notifications to authorities, claims processing, and reporting to management.Oversee security and compliance staff to ensure adherence to company programs and United States Coast Guard regulations.Participate in and manage business planning activities such as forecasting, 3‑year plans, month‑end estimates, and revenue recaps.Support the project planning process, including capital budgeting and funding requests, collaborating with business partners across the organization.Proactively work with fleet, shipyard, boat, and maintenance teams to recommend equipment repairs or improvements that enhance safety and efficiency.Rotate through various departments as business needs dictate.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, experience, and/or training.No required work experience, but preferred experience in river operations, logistics, and/or transportation.Knowledge or aptitude for stevedoring, barge, marine, and/or logistics operations.Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong problem‑solving, conflict management, and negotiation abilities.Leadership and management skills.Logical thinking to analyze situations and troubleshoot issues.Willingness to relocate throughout the United States once training is completed.Physical Demands & Requirements Medium work requiring occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds, and constant lifting of up to 10 pounds.Ability to walk safely on barge surfaces and work around deep water.Balancing skills to maintain body equilibrium on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.Climbing of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles using feet, legs, hands, and arms.Experience working in confined or restricted spaces.Capability to lift, raise, or move objects horizontally.Stooping and bending at the waist to perform job tasks.Ability to speak clearly and convey instructions accurately.Required visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis, computer work, reading, inspection, and use of measurement devices.Environmental Conditions Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, wet, humid, and dry conditions. Personal protective equipment is frequently required, and exposure to fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists, gases, and poor ventilation may occur.
