Job Summary The work of a TWU Cargo Ramp loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. Comply with WFS site security plan for assigned warehouse. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.Responsibilities Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.Load and unload cargo on and off aircraft.Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs to pick‑up and deliver cargo between the terminal, warehouse and aircraft.Perform ground service functions, such as connecting/removing ground power and ground start units and water service.Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and related guide man functions.Maintain a secure work environment.Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalentAbility to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo (up to 50 lbs or more)Valid Driver's license, must be maintained throughout employment in this roleStrong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crewsFlexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nightsBasic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipmentAbility to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulationsAttention to detail and a commitment to safety protocolsFluently read, write, and speak the English languageUnion Requirements This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.Preferred Skills Previous experience in aviation or ground handling operationsFamiliarity with aircraft types and airport layoutKnowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environmentExperience operating ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and forkliftsStrong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressureExcellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleaguesAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environmentBasic computer skills for completing paperwork and using scheduling systemsStrong customer service orientation and a positive attitude toward passenger interactionsPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to lift, push, pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 75 lbsFrequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the airport terminal or warehouseAbility to bend, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs as needed to assist passengers and handle luggageAbility to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snowManual dexterity required for handling documents, operating computers, and using two–way radiosAbility to remain on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more during shifts)Clear vision and hearing required for monitoring flight information, responding to passengers, and ensuring safety complianceCapacity to work in confined spaces, such as baggage handling areas or aircraft cabinsAbility to work in a noisy environment, such as near aircraft engines and ground support equipmentPerks & Benefits Want your pay in advance?
