Part-Time Program Instructor

Work Status: Part-Time position, Monday through Sunday, programs will be scheduled during mornings, days, nights, and weekends.

Program Position - Pay Range

  • After School Instructor (Child) - $12.00 - $22.00
  • Art Instructor (Adult/Child) - $10.00 - $20.00
  • Boxing Instructor - $10.00 - $20.00
  • Cheer and Tumbling Instructor (Child) - $15.00 - $25.00
  • Cooking Instructor (Adult/Child) - $15.00 - $25.00
  • Dance Instructor (Adult/Child) - $15.00 - $25.00
  • Early Childhood Instructor (3-5-year-old) - $10.00 - $20.00
  • Music Instructor (Adult/Child) - $10.00 - $20.00
  • Pottery Instructor (Adult/Child) - $15.00 - $25.00
  • Youth Sports and Athletics Instructor - $12.00 - $22.00

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE PT- PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Under the general supervision of Recreation Supervisor II or Assistant Recreation Supervisor, the Part-Time Program Instructor at the Marshall N. White Center is responsible for providing dynamic and engaging instruction in various disciplines. This role focuses on teaching foundational and advanced skills to students and community members, fostering creativity, and cultivating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in one or more disciplines listed above.
  • At least one (1) year of experience teaching or instructing groups preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques relevant to the class (e.g., pottery wheels, musical instruments, sports equipment).
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create lesson plans and adjust instruction for different skill levels.
  • Comfortable working with both children and adults in a classroom or recreational setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three (3) years of experience teaching in creative arts, athletics, or a related field.
  • Experience working with K-12-aged students and/or adults.
  • Relevant certifications in art, music, design, teaching, or athletics preferred.
  • Spanish Speaking preferred.
