This role ensures compliance with quality standards, food safety requirements, and operational accuracy within the SkyCafe flight kitchen. The Quality Control Technician serves as a final checkpoint to identify and resolve discrepancies before carts are released for transport to aircraft.ResponsibilitiesInspect and verify catering carts and flight setups to ensure all required items are present and meet airline specificationsConduct quality checks on all catering components, including food temperature, presentation, labeling, and equipment placementIdentify, document, and report discrepancies or defects, ensuring corrective action is taken prior to departureConfirm final counts and specifications with drivers and kitchen staff before carts are released for transportSupport flight kitchen operations, including assisting with cart setup, staging, and movement as neededCommunicate effectively with kitchen staff, drivers, and operational leadership to ensure accuracy and timelinessRespond to flight schedule changes and adjust quality checks to meet operational demandsMaintain compliance with all company safety, security, and food safety standardsEnsure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety protocolsPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQualifications18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesAbility to work onsite and in operational environmentsCommunicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)Ability to obtain and maintain required airport and security clearancesAbility to pass a background check and drug screenAbility to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to follow safety procedures and food handling guidelinesAbility to operate equipment relevant to the position (e.g., forklifts, catering vehicles) preferredPrevious experience in airline catering, food production, quality control, or a related field preferredMust be flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shiftsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
