Reserve Firefighter

Reserve Firefighter We are seeking dedicated reserve firefighters to join our team. In this role, you will respond to various emergency situations, including wildfires, accidents, and medical emergencies in rural areas.This position is on an on call basis based on county needs not a regular or full time work. Qualifications include:High school diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseMust reside in Seward County, KSPhysical fitness and agility to perform duties in various terrains and conditionsAbility to work well in a team and follow instructionsResponsibilities include:Responding to emergency calls and providing assistance as neededOperating firefighting equipment and vehiclesConducting fire prevention activities and educating the public on fire safetyMaintaining equipment and ensuring readiness for emergency situationsParticipating in training exercises and drills to enhance skills and preparednessAdditional requirements include:Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekendsMust complete Firefighting Training 1 within 1 year of hireComplete IS100, IS700 and IS800 within 1 year of hireIf you are passionate about serving your community and helping others in times of need, we encourage you to apply for the reserve firefighter position.To be considered, a completed and signed Seward County application must be submitted.Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant an interview.
