The CICU currently has two general cardiology and one advanced heart failure/heart transplant teams. As part of the advanced heart failure service, the faculty member will be expected to participate as an active member of the weekly heart transplant selection meetings and transplant discharge patient education.The successful candidate will practice in partnership with other faculty at the School of Pharmacy. This faculty member will be expected to participate in innovative clinical practices in the CICU (50-60% time), which serves as a model site for student and resident training and affords opportunities for scholarly and research activities. In addition to clinical practice, the successful candidate for this position will be expected to provide classroom-based and experiential teaching and course direction within the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum (both on-campus and distance degree programs), engage in service and scholarship activities in support of their clinical and teaching efforts, and to pursue endeavors that advance their professional development as an academician.Key Responsibilities:Engage in providing exemplary clinical care services in the area of Cardiology/Cardiac ICU and Heart Transplant.Provide quality teaching services in the School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program. Teaching includes preparing and presenting lectures and active learning sessions, precepting student Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), evaluating student performance using various assessment methods, and mentoring and advising students.Serve as director for one or more courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.Establish a scholarly program focused on a specific area of educational, translational, and/or clinical research.
