What You'll Do
- Determine efficient and safe routing methods of transportation
- Manage scheduling of shipments and notify departments or customers of arrival/pickup dates
- Communicate with truck drivers through computer software, cell phones or two way radios
- Answer inbound calls from customers for dispatching and to obtain trucking rates for incoming/outgoing shipments
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing additional duties as needed
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provide feedback by answering questions and requests
What You'll Need
- Prior DOT and dispatching experience preferred
- SAP system experience preferred
- Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Exceptional customer service skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
