Control Center Dispatcher/Scheduler

The Control Center Dispatcher/Scheduler oversees and controls the wheelchair operation and assures wheelchair agents are directed to flights in the most efficient manner. This position assures proper information is properly communicated between clients and wheelchair agents and to guarantee the agents are prepared to cover each flight. Control Center Dispatcher/Scheduler will also prepare and manage employee schedules.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Be proficient and trained in Avtech Dispatch Software.
  • Administrate, control and monitor AvTech Dispatch software to coordinate wheelchair passenger requests between the team, clients, and passengers.
  • Handle phone and radio traffic.
  • Timely dispatch wheelchair attendants and monitor through Avtech incoming client requests for service.
  • Ensure that team signs in/out assigned tablets.
  • Ensure that breaks and lunch periods are coordinated and documented in AvTech.
  • Coordinate with manager and supervisors that wheelchair attendants secure/lock wheelchairs in the designated area.
  • Practice open and continuous communication and value keeping others well informed.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with team and clients.
  • Promote awareness and education of Wheelchair Agents that they are responsible and accountable for safety.
  • Ensure all wheelchair services are registered in AvTech and report to the manager any inconsistencies or any agents not using the tablet properly.
  • Assist in the preparation of employee schedules through Celayix scheduling platform.
  • Make necessary revisions of employee schedule and ensure schedules are up to date.
  • Work closely with Management team to keep flight schedules and requests always updated.
  • Maintain clean and organized workplace.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Airport experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations.
  • Quick learning abilities and able to "multi-task"
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to professionally and positively interact/communicate and problem-solve with coworkers, clients and passengers.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and expectations.
  • Ability to organize and attend to detail.
  • Reporting to supervisor/manager as assigned.
  • Pass a background check and drug test.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
