Security Person – Utility Riverfront
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday Spring/Summer: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM Fall/Winter: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Hours may vary and include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

What You'll Do
As the Security Person – Utility Riverfront, you'll help maintain and secure one of Fort Wayne's most visited destinations. This role combines security presence, customer service, facility monitoring, maintenance support, and park operations to ensure Riverfront facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming after hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol Riverfront facilities, monitor activity, identify safety concerns, and report suspicious behavior, vandalism, or maintenance issues
- Lock and unlock buildings, secure restrooms and facilities, respond to alarms, and coordinate with law enforcement and City staff when needed
- Perform janitorial duties including restroom cleaning, litter pickup, facility preparation, floor care, and maintaining overall park appearance
- Assist with event setup and teardown, landscaping tasks, snow removal, ice control, water feature maintenance, and basic facility repairs
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and communication records while providing professional customer service to park visitors and guests
What You Bring | Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in security, facilities maintenance, janitorial services, parks operations, customer service, or related fields preferred
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a variety of situations
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach when interacting with the public
Preferred Certifications
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Building security and facility monitoring
- Safe operation of radios and communication equipment
- Basic maintenance and repair practices
- Janitorial equipment, cleaning procedures, and chemical safety
- Ability to recognize and report safety hazards, vandalism, and operational concerns
