Senior Electronic Security Technologist

Join a leading transportation-focused organization in Washington, DC, as a Senior Electronic Security Technologist supporting a robust Corporate Security program. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the design review, implementation, and validation of physical and electronic security systems—including video surveillance, access control, and perimeter detection systems. You'll serve as a key technical expert in assessing vulnerabilities, reviewing security documentation, conducting on-site inspections, and ensuring alignment with corporate security standards. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong technical knowledge, certifications, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review security system designs for compliance with corporate security standards, with a focus on surveillance and access control systems
  • Evaluate engineering drawings, technical specs, and design documentation for security technology integration
  • Conduct physical and electronic security vulnerability assessments for new construction and renovation projects
  • Support system implementation, testing, and validation efforts to ensure proper functionality and performance
  • Conduct field inspections to assess the integration and effectiveness of security measures
  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies based on threat and vulnerability analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure security requirements are met
  • Maintain current certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP, CPTED) and apply industry best practices across all project phases
  • Ensure adherence to national codes and corporate policies related to security systems and infrastructure
  • Deliver clear, concise documentation and communicate security assessments to project and program leadership

Applicable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in physical and electronic security system design, review, and implementation
  • PSP (Physical Security Professional) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional) certification from ASIS International
  • CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) certification from NICP
  • Experience with video surveillance systems (e.g., Axis, Avigilon, Bosch)
  • Experience with video management systems (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon)
  • Experience with physical access control systems (e.g.
