Dispatcher
The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is organizing the daily dispatch of equipment for the branch, working in compliance with all legal and safety requirements regarding the safe transport of equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule delivery and pickup routes to utilize time in the most efficient way.
- Work with Rental Coordinators to organize all rental contracts, delivery reports and any necessary paperwork for drivers as they start their work shift.
- Work with Yard Attendants to insure units are ready and the vehicles are ready for loading.
- Perform inventory control processes
- Inspect the vehicles and the loads daily, making sure drivers are working safe.
- Contact customers to alert them when equipment is on its way.
- Conduct morning safety meetings with drivers.
- Review all DOT paperwork and permits for accuracy.
- Track all trucks repairs and registrations making sure all are up to date.
- Collect all paperwork as drivers return to branch and distribute for processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma with at least two years' experience working as a dispatcher preferably in construction or industrial equipment company. Prior experience as a truck driver helpful.
- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate skill in Excel required. Experience with main frame database (AS400) extremely helpful.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. May occasionally be exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, and fumes.

- Positive attitude, professional phone demeanor, excellent verbal communication, able to multi-task in fast pace environment, demonstrate understanding of rental equipment and software, strong customer service and effective organizational skills.
