DHS USSS Office Engineer, Senior
Location: James J. Rowley Training Center (JJRTC)
*This position is contingent upon contract award*
Position Summary
The Senior Office Engineer is responsible for managing all project documentation across the preconstruction, construction, and post construction phases. This role oversees information flow, document control, contract deliverable tracking, and database accuracy to support the project team, Project Manager, and COR. The Senior Office Engineer ensures timely processing, organization, and distribution of all project documentation and maintains high standards of accuracy and compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all project documentation, including preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction records.
- Oversee document control processes, ensuring accurate logging, routing, tracking, and distribution of all project documents.
- Maintain and update databases for contract deliverables, decisions, issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure consistent and timely flow of paperwork and information across the project team.
- Prepare and submit daily and monthly construction reports to the Project Manager and COR.
- Log, route, and track all submittals, RFIs, change requests, estimates, QA reports, and safety reports.
- Ensure all documentation is logged and distributed within 48 hours of receipt.
- Maintain accurate, up to date electronic files and databases, including network shared drives.
- Verify contractor compliance with submittal requirements and ensure the submittal register is accurate and updated in real time.
- Process paperwork for campus access and maintain associated documentation.
- Provide senior level support to the project team by ensuring documentation integrity, accessibility, and compliance.
Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of document management and database experience, preferably in construction or engineering environments.
- Advanced proficiency in document control systems, shared drives, and database tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
