Dispatcher Position

The dispatcher supports world-class service and efficiency when dispatching orders for products or deliveries to both internal and external customers. They cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last-minute schedule changes, and provide them with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and other requirements.

What you'll do:

  1. Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information
  2. Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
  3. Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries
  4. Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
  5. Use radio, phone, or computer to send crews, vehicles, or other field units to appropriate locations
  6. Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways of working to help positively impact business performance
  7. Monitor the routes and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedules

Skills We Are Seeking:

  • Proven experience as a dispatcher or experience in another relevant position within the transportation field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to display sound judgment and critical thinking in high-pressure situations
  • Ready and willing to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working
  • Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency situations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
