EHS Fire Extinguisher Inspector Work Study

If you are unsure whether you have been awarded Work-Study, please contact the Financial Aid office at finaid@union.edu.Responsibilities Assists the Fire Safety Inspector in conducting fire extinguisher inspections, assisting with fire safety compliance activities, and promoting a safe campus environment.Essential Responsibilities and Duties Assist in monthly inspections of fire extinguishers in non-residential campus buildings. Check for proper placement, accessibility, and signage.Verify inspection tags are up to date and properly documented.Report missing, damaged, or discharged extinguishers.Help maintain inspection logs and digital records.Assist with identifying fire hazards.Qualifications Frequent walking, climbing stairs, and accessing various campus facilities.Occasional lifting, bending, and carrying of equipment.Training Provided Fire extinguisher inspection procedures.Basic fire safety and hazard recognition.Campus safety protocols and compliance standards.Location & Compensation Location: Schenectady, NY (ISEC 183B).Hours/Shifts available: 8 hours/week.Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr.Number of Positions available: 2.E-Verify Participation Union College participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
