Job Summary: Maintains security of containers, trucks, transiting distribution centers, and Exchanges. Prevents and detects illegal dishonest acts. Controls access to distribution centers and Exchange restricted areas, ensures the security of associates and assets. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains surveillance throughout warehouse areas to prevent and detect illegal and dishonest acts such as the removal of government property. - Observes employees activities to detect pilferage and or collusion. - Follows suspects and in accordance with established policies and procedures detains individuals suspected of committing illegal acts after receiving authorization from supervisor. Protects the integrity of the evidence until the proper authorities arrive. - Maintains control of all seals at all times. Ensures all trailers in the compound with freight are locked and sealed. Ensures all vehicles are logged in and out of the compound. - Monitors warehouse internal and external security systems to prevent possible loss. Makes recommendations for revisions improvements where deficiencies and or weaknesses have been identified. - Assists supervisor in studying inventory shrink and conducting inquiries as assigned in high shortage areas. Reviews merchandise periodically to ensure that unauthorized changes in pricing or location have not been made. Witnesses as required the destruction of merchandise that has been marked down to zero. - Maintains logs and reports of all visitors, investigations discrepancy reports, etc. - Ensure only authorized personnel are allowed to enter the warehouses. - Conducts administrative inspections as directed by supervisor management. - Assists base police and or Military Working Dog Teams as directed. - Exercises tact and diplomacy in contacts with patrons and associates while carrying out assignments. - Supports and carries out EEO policies. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
