Access Control Specialist
Performs with little or no supervision, installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles utilizing standard operating procedures, written orders and regulatory requirement as a guide to access determination for a range of circumstances.
Authenticates identification through use of electronic Personnel Access Control Systems (ePACS), identification cards, badges, biometric automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
Validates entry requests through the use of ePACS and grants access to persons and vehicles with appropriate authorizations.
Serves as the initial point of contact for the installations visitors which may include foreign nationals, government agents, elective officials, media and Very Important Persons (VIP).
Provides answers to questions, determines whether appropriate need for access exists, and provides assistance as required.
Responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with federal and state laws.
Processes a variety of NCIC queries and provides timely response as appropriate or required.
Regulates pedestrian and vehicular traffic to prevent accidents and to ease congestion and parking problems.
