Dispatcher I
The Dispatcher I will effectively direct the daily operational activity of delivery personnel which includes scheduling deliveries, dispatching trucks and processing paperwork. Assists in establishing procedures to ensure efficient and timely deliveries and troubleshoot operational problems when they arise.
Job Duties / Essential Functions:
- Assign orders promptly to the correct driver nearest to the designated delivery location.
- Assign orders for delivery and reroute any undeliverable orders.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to patients when talking on the phone.
- Provide delivery technicians with information or updates related to their assigned pickups and deliveries.
- Enter all relevant data into internal transportation system/database, ensuring accuracy and completion.
- Prioritize and organize calls and tasks according to urgency.
- Confirm with patients prior scheduling the delivery.
- Inform appropriate departments on any orders unable to deliver.
- Provides the answering service with a list of delivery technicians available for specific nights.
- All other duties assigned.
Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role and/or Delivery Technician experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS office with proven data entry experience
