Job Title
Schedule and dispatch Drivers and vehicles for client delivery and pick up for medical appointments and meal delivery services. This is a Customer Service position. Serves as a Scheduler when needed. Cross-training is provided. Work is performed under general supervision reporting to the Transit Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatches transit drivers daily to schedule and meet client demands with respect to needed equipment.
- Primary contact for transit drivers and answers their questions concerning directions, emergency calls.
- Performs customer relations function for scheduling.
- Performs routine and regular follow up with potential clients.
- Responds to inquiries, complaints and correspondence from customers and the public; investigates and resolves complaints courteously and in a timely manner or refers appropriately.
- Schedules group rides for congregate sites, Day Care sites and special contract services.
- Prepares and reviews daily/weekly/monthly reporting.
- Inventory control of tablets.
- Ensures that Drivers are in proper uniform and reports violations to supervisor.
- Responds to transit vehicle accidents and follows established protocol for reporting and investigating.
- Monitors transit routes and stops to detect violation of regulations and to maximize passenger safety.
- Assists Drivers in resolving problems with vehicle when needed.
- Ensures that Drivers meet and comply with all federal, state and local health and safety regulations.
- Serves as Scheduler and Transit Driver when needed and upon request of supervisor.
- Performs additional tasks as required.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Route Match computer software
- Windows operating system
- MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work remotely. This position has the flexibility to work a set hybrid schedule with both in office and remote hours, after training is completed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School or High School equivalency
- Two years previous dispatch experience
- Knowledge of State and Federal requirements for private and public transit systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, good driving record, and acceptable criminal background check
