These positions were created to expand 24/7 surveillance monitoring efforts and assist in maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
This role combines security monitoring, surveillance operations, public safety support, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) research. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing technology, monitoring cameras and social media activity, and responding professionally during emergency situations.

- Conduct active camera monitoring and assist with campus security operations
- Monitor social media and online platforms for potential safety threats
- Gather and analyze open-source intelligence (OSINT) information
- Assist Public Safety Officers with patrols, emergency response, evacuations, and public assistance
- Troubleshoot camera and surveillance system issues
- Prepare video and surveillance materials for reports and investigations
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports
- Monitor and update Public Safety web content as needed
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with students, staff, and visitors
- Support department initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned
- At least one year of experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement
- Experience monitoring surveillance systems, cameras, access controls, or related security technology
- Strong computer skills and ability to conduct web-based research and information gathering
- Experience using Microsoft Word and other standard office software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities
- Professionalism, dependability, and sound judgment
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience working in an educational environment
- Familiarity with criminal activity mapping
- Experience configuring or troubleshooting video surveillance systems
