Summary:
Under supervision, the Master Electrician, in addition to the duties and responsibilities of a journey person electrician, shall be responsible to perform the duties of the mater electrician of record for electrical systems pursuant to Minnesota statutes and electrical codes. Performs general electrical work in the District, such as installs, services and maintains electrical equipment and wiring systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of Class A Minnesota Master's license issued by the State of Minnesota's Board of Electricity
- Ability to work from drawings and specifications
- Ability to make operating repairs to electrical machinery and equipment
- Ability to direct and train helpers
- Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees.
- Various types of electrical instruments, equipment and appliances and the standard practices, materials and processes of the electrical trade. Examples of equipment include amp probes, multimeters and circuit tracers.
- Installation, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, apparatus and instruments.
- Electronic circuits
- Laws, rules and standards related to electrical construction
- Ability to work from drawings, specifications and blueprints
- Ability to make operating repairs to machinery
- Ability to direct and train electrical helpers
- Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees
- Skills to differentiate between mechanical and electrical problems
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Excellent interpersonal relations when working with and in proximity of District staff and students
Medical/Prescription Drug Plan with Health Reimbursement Arrangement
- Single Coverage - District pays 100% of premium (FREE) + contributes $2,612.50 into HRA annually
- Family Coverage - District pays 75% of premium (25% employee contribution) + contributes $5,225.00 into HRA annually
- Single Coverage - District pays 100% of Basic premium (FREE)
- Family Coverage - District pays 25% of Premium
- District provides minimum of $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance
- District-provided at no cost to employee
- Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts
- The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association) pension plan.
- Employees may also elect to participate in Tax-Shelter Annuity options.
- Each bargaining unit contract defines time off provisions such as holidays, sick/personal leave, vacation, etc.
