Range of Hourly Pay Range 26 / Step 1-11
$39.79 - $53.47 Working Schedule - Part Time - up to 20 hours weekly, with some schedule flexibility.
- 2-3 Day Work Week (No Holidays or Weekends)
- Work will be both office and field environments.
- Some traveling to other Mohave County offices: Bullhead City, AZ and Lake Havasu City, AZ.
- Travel to attend conferences, training, and educational classes, primarily in state.

- Performs physical examinations.
- Orders or performs appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Assesses patients' psychosocial, developmental, and health needs.
- Makes referrals and/or consultation when necessary.
- Prescribes and/or dispenses prescription only drugs, over-the-counter drugs, medical devices and/or appliances in accordance with the plan of accountability as approved by the Board of Nursing.
- Maintains and manages medication inventory for assigned programs.
- Provides counseling and education for patients and staff.
- Acts as a resource person for the nursing staff.
- Documents and maintains client charts and clinic records after each visit.
- Responds to all positive tests with contact investigation and adheres to State reporting requirements.
- Coordinates medical resources with social service resources to meet patient needs.
- Oversees the filing of forms, reports and charts completed by subordinates.
- Prepares reports and summaries of public health and client activity statistics and other related statistics.
- As required, may perform a variety of clerical tasks including but not limited to: scheduling appointments; answering phones; responding to or routing inquiries; referring and directing individuals and clients to appropriate agencies.
- Create and maintain a supportive work environment with other departments and community programs, Public Health divisions, and Public Health leadership on accreditation domain while maintaining a culture of quality improvement.
- Apply basic principles, practices, techniques, teaching, and communication methods related to the age, gender, race/ethnicity, educational level and socioeconomic status of community members.
- Communicate and act in a cultural competent and professional manner maintaining cooperative relationships with community members, co-workers, and work contacts.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Nursing.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife by the Arizona State Board of Nursing to practice in the specialty area for which qualified.
- Two (2) years of nursing experience.
- OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.
PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING - Master’s Degree in Nursing.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT - Must pass drug screen post offer.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of employment and maintain said license while employed in this position.
- Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
- Must maintain and possess a current license as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife for practice in the specialty area for which qualified issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain and possess approval by the Arizona Board of Nursing to prescribe and dispense medications.
- Must maintain prescription and dispensing certification issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as required and may be required to maintain and possess current DEA license issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration as required by some positions.
- Willingness to attain additional knowledge in the health and nutrition field through reading of health-related information and materials and attending training and educational classes.

- Effectively operating and utilizing a variety of laboratory equipment and other equipment used in a health service area, such as: Scales; Stethoscope; Sphygmomanometer and cuff; Hematocrit Centrifuge; Culture Incubator; syringes & needles.
- Effectively operating a variety of office equipment to include: computer keyboard; typewriter; fax transmittal; and copiers, data entry into Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicating and maintaining professionalism with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
- Conduct health counseling, education and interventions and take patient histories.
- Plan and schedule work to accommodate the needs of assigned area and clientele to assure programs are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
