    Job #: 13008 Title: Marine Technician Helper Location: Houston, Tx 77012 Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 Position: Foremans and Staff Description:
    Sterling Personnel INC is seeking a motivated Marine Technician Helper for our client in the Houston Tx, area. We are looking for strong candidates with strong work ethics and the ability to learn. This entry-level role is responsible for assisting in the inspection, testing, recharging, and repair of equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and willing to obtain required certifications and grow within the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inspect, recharge, and repair fire protection and breathing air equipment
    • Obtain and maintain required certifications (Hydrotesting, Portable Fire Extinguishers, EEBD, SCBA, Breathing Air)
    • Perform testing on portable and semi-portable fire equipment in compliance with all applicable regulations
    • Service low- and high-pressure cylinders, including hydrostatic testing, documentation, and reconditioning (sandblasting/painting)
    • Maintain accurate service records, including parts usage and completed work
    • Monitor and ensure proper calibration of shop equipment
    • Read and interpret work orders, customer orders, and service requests
    • Properly tag and process incoming equipment for service
    • Follow all company procedures and regulatory standards (state, federal, DOT, and industry guidelines)
    • Assist in training team members and supporting shop operations
    • Participate in incident/accident reporting and follow-up when necessary
    Requirements:
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills
    • Ability to obtain required certifications within a specified timeframe
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to follow safety procedures and regulatory guidelines
    • Valid driver's license (preferred)
    • Frequently lift, push, or pull 50 lbs. or more
    • Ability to lift objects overhead repeatedly
    • Perform bending, twisting, and manual labor tasks
    • Must have TWIC CARD
    • Must be able to travel at times
    • Must be able to work long hours at times
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed
