Summary: This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge and experience related to logistics, with a special emphasis on warehouse operations and customer service. The Warehouse Lead is a working lead who demonstrates core leadership qualities and is flexible, has excellent communication skills and is able to adapt easily to change.
Scope: Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for the daily operations related to Material Management including shipping/receiving, material handling, material inventory and cycle counts, forklift operation, customer service, document destruction and other tasks related to Logistics. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for providing an array of customer driven on demand services within a secure government facility.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
A combination of education and directly related experience equal to three (3) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous process improvement
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification
Reach with hands and arms, extending arms forward and above the head
Climb ladders and stairs, and perform work at heights
Lift and carry 35 pounds of material
Must have active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance
U.S. citizen
Physical Demands: Performance of work may require sorting and movement of items up to 35 pounds and may require extended walking and standing. Performs light to moderate lifting when moving material by hand or hand-truck. May be required to operate a variety of forklifts to move, load and unload material. Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. Employee is required to stand, walk, sit, squat, stoop, bend, climb, lift and pull. Employee is required to use hands and fingers to finger, handle, feel and grip material and tools. Employee is required to reach with hands and arms, extending arms forward and above the head.
Work Environment: Generally favorable indoor office workspace and/or limited exposure to adverse weather conditions. Will be required to use personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, safety vest, hardhat, and/or ear protection.
High School Diploma or equivalent appropriate General Certificates of Secondary Education or global equivalent, however four (4) year accredited degree or global equivalent preferred
Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)
Experience should be primarily in the area of Logistics/Warehousing
Ability to lead a team and motivate others to be successful
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Good computer skills to include the use of Microsoft Office Applications
