    Security Officer

    The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Concordance's participants, team members, and facilities. In this role, you will interact with our participants, team members, and visitors and work with a team of Security Officers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Your role will involve:

    • Protecting the Concordance's property and team members by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues or theft, and monitoring of parking lots
    • Completing random drug screens of participants
    • Monitoring entry to the Concordance Center, including bag searches and security systems
    • Monitoring video surveillance equipment
    • Responding to overhead pages and requests for assistance
    • Writing reports on irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
    • Enforcing security policies and procedures
    • Collaborating with Concordance team members to ensure the safety and security of Concordance's participants, team members, and facilities
    • Occasionally, help set up for Center events or move classrooms around, including but not limited to carrying and setting up tables and chairs.

    • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and facilities
    • Strong attention to detail
    Required Education and Licensing
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an armed security guard license where applicable
    • Driver's License
    • Higher education degree preferred
    • CPR/adult first aid certification preferred
    Skills and Competencies
    • 2+ years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
    • Prior experience with justice-involved adults or other vulnerable populations preferred
    Physical Requirements Full-Time Security Officer

    • Able to walk and patrol continuously for extended periods of time, indoors and outdoors
    • Able to stand continuously for extended periods of time

    • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Able to bend, kneel, squat and reach
    • Able to react and respond quickly and change directions in emergencies and crisis situations
    • Able to maintain alertness during shift
    • Demonstrates physical strength and stamina to capture and detain individuals
    • Able to see clearly and pay attention to detail to monitor surveillance equipment
    • Able to hear clearly
    • Proficiency in using a computer to enter data, write and document notes
    • Able to stay calm and think clearly when under pressure and in stressful situations
