    divh2Security Guard/h2pCAMBA GARDENS is a 209 unit supportive/affordable housing development located in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn. CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV), the housing development subsidiary of CAMBA, developed these units. 146 of these units are set aside for formerly homeless individuals and families. 117 units are for Population I individuals, chronically homeless single adults who suffer from Serious and Persistent Mental Illness or who have a co-occurring Mental Illness and Chemical Addiction (MICA). 15 units are for Population II individuals, chronically homeless single adults who have a substance abuse disorder that is the barrier to independent living and who also have a disabling clinical condition. 14 units are for Population V chronically homeless families, in which the head of household suffers from a substance abuse disorder, a disabling medical condition or HIV/AIDS. CAMBA provides on-site case management and supportive services in addition to 24/7 security./ppThe person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to:/pulliMaintain access control and traffic inside facilities to maintain order and security of people and property./liliDetect and/or prevent fires, vandalism, theft, or infractions of the rules./liliMaintain assigned posts throughout the facility until properly relieved./liliProtect employees, visitors and tenants./liliProvide directions to visitors when requested; including the following:/liulliMaintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality./liliPractice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol Procedures./liliComply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information./liliMonitor and ensure the security and fire safety of the entire facility./liliEmploy crisis prevention/intervention and crisis management skills when conflict occurs./liliPatrol buildings and grounds of facilities where CAMBA programs are located./liliExamine doors, windows, gates and all fire exits to determine that they are secure and in accordance with all fire regulations./liliObserve and report irregularities such as unusual tenant behavior, trespassers, fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked./liliMonitor tenants and facility via security camera systems./liliConduct fire safety patrol and report findings or fire safety concerns to appropriate supervisory./liliConduct security screenings of all tenants and visitors entering the facility./liliIssue commendations to support positive tenant behaviors such as peers helping peers, compliance with rules and regulations, etc./liliCounsel tenants that violate rules (such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and complete infraction reports./liliObserve departing employees, visitors and/or tenants to guard against theft of CAMBA property./liliDocument in the security log book and incident report forms property damage, unusual occurrences, and incidents with employees, visitors and tenants./liliMaintain assigned equipment per shift./liliSign equipment in and out for each shift./liliMay provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports./liliTasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time./li/ul/ulpEducation, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required:/pulliNYS Security Guard license/liliSufficient Education: to comprehend basic reading, writing, and math to execute the required functions of the role./liliMust have an 8-hour Pre-Assignment security guard training course certificate./liliMust obtain a 16-hour On-the-Job security guard training course certificate within 90 days of employment./liliMust complete the 8-Hour Annual In-Service Course each calendar year./liliMust have and maintain a NYS Security Guard license./liliMust obtain NYS Security Guard registration and must maintain registration during employment./liliMust obtain Fire Guard certification and maintain it throughout employment./li/ulpMinimum Experience and Skills Required:/pulliOne year of relevant experience./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliBilingual in any other language/li/ulpPre and/or Post Employment Requirements:/pulliObtain Criminal History Checks (CHC) fingerprinting through the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs (Justice System) and Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance./liliAbility to maintain fingerprint clearance throughout employment./liliAs a Mandated Reporter, you must immediately report suspected incidents/cases of abuse and neglect to the Vulnerable Persons Central Register (VPCR) Hotline at 1-855-373-2122 and complete a CAMBA Incident Report./liliAbility to read and write post-and-patrol reports.
