Summary
Serves as the Chief Deputy to the Director of Elections/ General Registrar. Provides professional and technical assistance to the Director of Elections/ General Registrar. Work involves responsibility for the performance of duties related to voter registration and election activities in accordance with the Code of Virginia, Federal election laws, and the policies and procedures of the Virginia State Board of Elections. Work is performed independently with limited oversight by the General Registrar. Chief Deputy must be able to assume full duties of the General Registrar. Examples Of Duties Major Duties: Provides professional and technical support for City elections. Manages the candidate filing and campaign finance processes. Manages the Absentee and Early Voting process. Manages the election officer (Poll Worker) Program. Manages administrative activities for the Registrars office including supervision of staff.
