Controls movement of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic through work zones using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle. Reviews, comprehends, and executes temporary traffic control plans and/or standards to ensure work zones are properly installed and maintained./pulliCoordinates and communicates with customers to ensure the safety of all workers./liliSet up, maintain, and remove Advance Warning Signs, Channelizing Devices, and other traffic control devices according to Federal, State, and/or Local Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines and Temporary Traffic Control Plans for simple and intermediate complexity work zones./liliMaintain a Flagger Station by standing and controlling road users through the use of hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle./liliDrive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and in a timely manner. May also pull lightweight trailered equipment./liliEffective radio communication with team members on work site./liliFollow all company safety procedures and practices./liliNotify Supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents./liliAchieve organizational required training within timeframe established by Project Manager or Facility Manager./liliProvide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Protector/liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpSafety Sensitive Position/ph3Qualifications/h3pTraffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ verifiable hours required/ppHigh School Diploma or GED completion required/ppPrior experience preferred in temporary traffic control services, utility industry, or construction industry preferred/ppExcellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills/ppIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems/ppMust be able to follow safe workplace practices/ppValid Drivers License void of suspension or revocation/ppAt least 18 years old./ppMandatory out of town work averaging 2 weeks- 2 months/ph3Work Environment and Physical Demands/h3pEmployee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:/pulliHours of operation may vary due to staffing needs./liliFrequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles./liliFrequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment./liliThe position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt./liliPosition lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds./liliStands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects./liliPosition requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination./li/ulh3Additional Information/h3pWhat We Offer:/pulliCompetitive Pay: Hourly pay based on experience, guaranteed pay increase within the first year.
