The JobSan Bernardino County is recruiting for
Child Care Providers who provide short-term supervision and care for children when the adult conducts transactions in a County office. The eligible list will be used primarily to fill vacancies in the Transitional Assistance Department, but may be used for other departments as needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift small children and other objects up to 45 lbs.
Job offers are contingent upon passing a background investigation including a fingerprint check and search of the Child Abuse Index before appointment. In addition, applicants must possess an official photo identification card and pass a pre-employment physical, including a tuberculosis test.

Minimum RequirementsExperience: Six (6) months of full-time (40 hours per week) paid or volunteer child care experience working with at least three (3) young children (between the ages of 2 years to 11 years) in
one of the following:
- Day care center
- Religious facility
- Nursery school
- Other children's services program or setting
Note: Experience must be attained in a licensed facility/setting. Non-licensed babysitting/child care experience is not considered qualifying. Desired QualificationsCompletion of college coursework in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD), and CPR and First Aid certification is highly desirable.
Selection Process Examination Procedure: There will be a Written Exam of knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Working in a Childcare Environment
- Public Contact and Interpersonal Concepts
A separate written examination to evaluate Spanish Bilingual Skills will be administered to applicants indicating bilingual (Spanish/English) skills on the application.

Spanish Bilingual Exam : Bilingual positions require that applicants pass written and oral language competency tests in order to be considered for bilingual vacancies.
Approximately one (1) week prior to the test date, eligible candidates will be notified of the Spanish Bilingual Exam time and location. Applicants scheduled for an examination must show photo identification or equivalent.
