Schedule : Volunteers are expected to contribute up to 24 hours per week
About the Position: - Operate a County utility vehicle (Gator) in a safe and responsible manner while supporting park operations
- Perform duties primarily in an office environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions
- Work involves frequent sitting at a desk while using a computer and standard office equipment
- May occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds, and infrequently lift items between 25 and 50 pounds
Reports To: - Volunteer Liaison or Coordinator of assigned location
Essential Job Functions- Greet and assist members of the public in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide administrative support to office staff, including sorting and distributing mail, making copies, scanning, filing, and organizing documents
- Maintain accurate records, including alphabetizing files and date-stamping incoming materials
- Help manage waiting lists and track service requests as needed
- Monitor deadlines and appointments, ensuring timely communication with staff and visitors
- Keep inventory of office supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed
Secondary Job Functions - Understands and interprets procedures and practices related to various departmental and assigned programs.
- May talk with individuals to gather preliminary information or verify information for various County programs or activities.
Job Requirements - Complete all required County training courses
- Provide an acceptable driving record at no cost to the County
- Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license at the start of the volunteer assignment and maintain it throughout the duration of service
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Modern office practices and records management/maintenance procedures, English grammar and spelling, Basic mathematics required to calculate and perform general accounting procedures, Filing and information systems, including EXCEL and Microsoft Word.
- Effectively operating personal computers, calculators and peripheral hardware and software products to provide guidance on the maintenance and implementation of developmental procedures of department to which assigned.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, maintain a high standard of confidentiality, understand brief, written or oral directions and grasp ideas quickly in order to carry out instructions, solve problems with initiative and exercise good judgment.
