Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:- Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates and schedules field construction and maintenance projects. Coordinates and reviews construction- or engineering-related contracts and contract documents.
- Measures work performances against engineering work standards to develop, maintain, and improve City of Austin design and construction standards.
- Tracks the status of projects and reports to management.
- Plans projects by determining crew size and composition, work hour requirements, and equipment requirements.
- Prepares work order schedules, control records, and post schedules.
- Communicates project and/or program information to internal and external customers.
- Ensures compliance with City and other regulatory agency requirements and policies.
- Meets with project managers, engineers, and contractors to discuss designs.

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus 3 years of experience in the coordination and scheduling of utility infrastructure projects.

Licenses and Certification Requirement:Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working in a lead capacity, including strong organizational skills, scheduling of work assignments, providing training and guidance to others, and coordinating efforts of multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of and experience performing operations and maintenance duties on Austin Water's collection system, including possession of a Class III Collection System Operator License (or higher) and extensive use of AWs database.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with project engineers, COA inspectors, contractors, and O&M staff
- Experience in the field of construction of water collection system facilities, including interpretation of construction drawings and contract documents.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience responding to sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), including analyzing the cause of the SSO and estimating the volume and flow rate of the SSO.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location and ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
Physical Requirements:Traverse rough terrain for field work and on-call duties.
Notes to Candidate:Position OverviewAustin Water is seeking a Scheduler Analyst for the Pipeline Engineering and Operations Support Division (PEOS). This position will perform a combination of office and field tasks. It will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including coordinating and communicating design, construction, operations, and maintenance activities for Austin Water's wastewater collection system. The successful candidate will help PEOS track SSO causes and resolutions. The successful candidate will also take part in AW's SSO response on-call rotation, which will require work outside of normal business hours."
Critical Employee: This position has been designated as critical for the City of Austin. Critical positions are necessary and support activities that impact City or department operations. Work can be done at a designated work site or an alternate work location. Critical employees may be reassigned to another area to provide essential services during extraordinary situations or emergencies.
