    Legal Assistant - Personal Injury Defense (Hybrid Chicago, IL)

    Salary: $70,000-$75,000
    Job Type: Full-Time Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys throughout all phases of litigation while managing essential case-support functions.     About the Role

    In this position, you will support a personal injury defense team by coordinating litigation activities, preparing documents, communicating with clients and third parties, and ensuring smooth case progression from initial intake through trial preparation.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage litigation-support tasks including maintaining attorney calendars, scheduling hearings and depositions, organizing case files, and managing case logistics.
    • Assist with drafting and preparing legal documents, including subpoenas, correspondence, and basic pleadings.
    • Organize and maintain discovery materials, medical records, investigative reports, exhibits, and case evidence.
    • Gather case-related information from clients, medical providers, and external parties.
    • Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, experts, and vendors.
    • Support trial preparation and provide administrative assistance during trial as needed.
    Required Qualifications
    • At least 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Litigation Legal Secretary, ideally within personal injury defense or general litigation.
    • Knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery processes, court rules, and document-management best practices.
    • Experience preparing subpoenas, assisting with discovery, and supporting trial preparation.
    • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and balance multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal databases/document-management tools.
    • Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate preferred (not required).
    Schedule
    • Monday-Friday
    • Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the Chicago office
