Overview: LHH has partnered with a growing boutique firm in Chicago to identify an experienced
Civil Litigation Defense Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of defense litigation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong litigation support experience and proficiency in
Odyssey and
PACER filing systems.
Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive litigation support from case inception through trial
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
- Perform electronic filings via Odyssey and PACER
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court schedules
- Assist with discovery, including document review, production, and coordination
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
- Communicate with courts, clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Support trial preparation, including exhibits and witness materials
Qualifications: - Minimum 3+ years of civil litigation defense paralegal experience
- Required experience with Odyssey and PACER filings
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules
- Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
Preferred: - Experience supporting multiple attorneys
- Prior defense-side litigation background
