Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00p.m.-11:30p.m. with Mandatory overtime during inclement weather and emergencies

Responsibilities

What you'll do
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted power across KCI terminal facilities
- Repair and rebuild lighting fixtures and electrical components that support safe passenger and employee movement
- Operate heavy equipment to repair directly buried electrical circuitry, restoring service efficiently and safely
- Support airport operations during severe weather by operating heavy snow-removal equipment during emergency events
- Follow electrical safety standards, airport regulations, and City policies to maintain compliance and reliability
- Perform other assigned duties that support airport infrastructure and emergency readiness

- Power disruptions are resolved quickly with minimal operational impact
- Preventive maintenance reduces repeat failures and emergency repairs
- Snow and emergency response work supports uninterrupted airport operations

Qualifications
REQUIRES

- High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing routine and moderately complex electrical maintenance and repair work
OR - An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.
- Ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL within the probationary period, if required.
- Ability to pass a City-required physical examination.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to pass a background check, including a 10-year TSA background check.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
