Mohave County Public Works- Parks Division is looking to fill an E.R.A.C.E. Officer Lead position.
We are located at 3715 Sunshine Dr., Kingman, AZ.

To prevent illegal (Wildcat Dumping) by enforcement, education, and the pursuit of the Criminal Offenders. E.R.A.C.E. Officer Lead-> Salary Range 17 Steps 1-8 $25.65 - $31.55/hr.
Must possess and maintain firearm proficiency.
Maybe required to work weekends and holidays.
Schedule does involve being "On-Call" which would include weekends and holidays.
Be required to successfully pass drug screen post offer, complete psychological, polygraph, health-related, and physical agility testing appropriate to law enforcement individuals.
AZPOST certification is required for the position. If holding a lapsed or out-of-state certification, must obtain a current/active
AZPOST certification within the first 6 months of employment.
Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working conditions would include but are not limited to:- Work does require traveling throughout the county while operating and handling a motor vehicle in adverse traffic conditions, weather, terrain, and high-speed driving.
- Perform moderate to strenuous manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.
- Involves exposure to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil, grease, hazardous materials, and noise of equipment.
- The ability to frequently be able to lift 25lbs up to 75lbs or more while operating heavy equipment.
- This position requires an equal amount of time spent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending are sometimes required.
Essential Job Functions- Will assume ERACE Coordinator/Chief of Parks Law Enforcement duties and responsibilities in the absence of the ERACE Coordinator/Chief of Parks Law Enforcement.
- Contributes to maintaining the integrity of the organization. Displays high standards of ethical conduct and understands the impact of violating these standards on Mohave County, self, and others.
- Performs functions of an ERACE Officer.
- Reviews and evaluates operations performance of assigned area.
- Supervises, coordinates and performs a variety of administrative work such as scheduling, maintaining records, responding to request for information or services, responding to news media, investigating field problems, performing related administrative, planning and research activities, and preparing communications, statistical information and briefing and budget materials.
- Presents testimony in court and presents legally obtained evidence.
- Assists in and coordinates activities and programs with other law enforcement and public agencies.
- Represents the department, as required, in meetings with various individuals and groups.
- May serve as a training officer.
- Conduct in-service continued or specialty training.
- Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma /GED (General Education Degree).
- Three (3) years successful experience as a law enforcement officer.
- Supplemented by college level course work in Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration or related field
- OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENT- Associate degree Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration or related field.
- Two (2) years law enforcement experience in environmental issues and wildcat dumping.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT- Must pass drug screen post offer.
- Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
- Requires certification as a law enforcement officer by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZ POST).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of employment and maintain said license while employed in this position.
- May be required to successfully complete physical agility testing, written examination, oral board interview, polygraph examination, background examination, psychological examination, final administrative interview and other testing appropriate to law enforcement individuals.

- The safe and effective operation and maintenance of law enforcement equipment to include firearms.
- The safe operation and handling of a motor vehicle in adverse traffic conditions, weather, terrain and high-speed driving.
- Communicating and maintaining professionalism with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
- Give and receive orders, to follow instructions, and to work as a team member in a structured working environment.
- Comprehend, retain and recall factual information.
- Protect the public and enforce the laws with due regard for the rights and safety of individuals, the preservation of property, and the maintenance of good community and interpersonal relationships in compliance with established laws, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Apply training, experience and common sense to identify potentially dangerous situations, to make effective logical decisions, and to exercise the appropriate measure of tact or force to resolve dangerous or emotionally charged situations with minimum injury to self and others and minimum damage to property involved.
- Demonstrate moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people.
- Retain control of a vehicle under emergency conditions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, other law enforcement agencies and the public.
- Prepare accurate, complete and legible reports and to present detailed, accurate and objective oral statements and responses to questions.
- Attain proficiency in the use of firearms.
- Fulfill physical requirements of work assignments to include maintaining physical conditioning required for performance of work assignments.
