Beneficially recycling the treated water and nutrient-rich biosolids, and recovering energy from waste gases increases the efficiency of our wastewater treatment plants, conserves resources, protects the environment and saves money.
We protect water quality and prevent water pollution by providing wastewater treatment to 17 cities and 17 local sewer utilities. Wastewater Treatment Division serves about 1.5 million people, including most urban areas of King County and parts of south Snohomish County and northeast Pierce County.
